Note: I decided that it is easier if EX and I have a similar format (or template) for our characters, so I decided that it would be best to use similar categories.
Innkeeper RahlDescriptionInnkeeper Rahl is a kindly and sociable Grogg who works in the Miner's Inn in the lower levels of Moldan. He is known for his jokes and his fun, cheery attitude with his customers and for his calm and harmless demeanor. Rahl is quite different in comparison to others of his race. Most Groggs are solitary and nomadic, preferring small cavernous homes while Rahl is quite the opposite. He is considered eccentric by other Groggs. The Innkeeper knows that criminals and members of the Black Hand frequently visit his pub, though he overlooks the shady 'business' that takes place in his inn. He rarely speaks of his background with his customers unless he knows them very well, and even then he never reveals the full truth of his past.
AppearanceRahl is an older, plump Grogg. He is astoundingly tall (even for a Grogg... He stands at nearly 10 feet tall) with skin that is more grey than blue. He has quite a rosy, cheery face and is always smiling widely.
LocationRahl can usually be found in his Inn where he serves and chats with his customers.
Role in the GameInnkeeper Rahl is involved in some of the large quest chains. He is involved directly with the thief quest chain as well as
The Madman. He knows many rumours and will give you advice if you know him well enough. He also knows the secret passage to Dayton's cavern (not in the demo).
Quests involved in"The Madman" Chain: 1A, 2B, Conclusion A
"Catch the Thief" Chain: Several Quests
Death:You can try to kill Innkeeper Rahl but either he will win the fight or almost everyone in the Inn (who all like the Innkeeper) will defend him and attack you.
Other/PastRahl keeps his past a secret from even his closest friends, but it is catching up on him. When he was younger, he lived on the outskirts of Moltara. There when he was an adolescent, he became friends with a young Xemna (who will remain unnamed at this point

). They were great friends and they often would explore the lands around Moltara. Rahl's parents and the other Groggs thought that Rahl was strange to be such a good friend with the Xemna, but they did not mention it. Rahl remained friends with the Xemna until their late teenage years when the Xemna found his way into a strange society (like a cult). Rahl joined this group sometime and left all of the other Groggs for it. But after a while Rahl realized that this society, which claimed to know the truth in everything, was run by a board of greedy, power-hungry people who were manipulating all of the underlings. He learned that they were trying to recruit as many people as possible into their group, hoping that they would grow to become strong enough in numbers to take over the lands. Rahl told his friend that they were not magical religious prophets and that they were merely charlatans, but the Xemna refused to believe him. When the leaders of the group found out that he was speaking about them, they sent some of their ilk to assassinate the poor Grogg. However, he had escaped to start a new life before they reached him. Unfortunately, after so many years they finally tracked him down and know that he is living in Moldan.
